Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller Announces Official Launch of GO TEXAN Office at Southern U.S. International Trade Center
HOUSTON, Texas — Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller has announced the official establishment and opening of a GO TEXAN office at the Southern U.S. International Trade Center (ITC) in Houston. The new office will serve as a strategic hub to strengthen connections between Texas agricultural businesses and international markets, accelerating “Made in Texas” products onto the global stage.
Organizers said the newly launched GO TEXAN office at ITC will focus on practical, front-line support for member businesses, including brand promotion, business matchmaking, trade show coordination, procurement connections, and international market outreach. By combining GO TEXAN’s statewide brand platform with ITC’s cross-border business network, the office is expected to create stronger pathways for Texas food, agriculture, and related industries to expand into Asia and beyond.
GO TEXAN is a flagship initiative of the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) designed to identify and promote Texas-made products and companies, helping connect them with consumers and new markets.
ITC representatives noted that locating the GO TEXAN office in Houston carries special significance. Houston’s role as a logistics and trade gateway—supported by a diverse commercial ecosystem spanning distribution, retail, hospitality, and international procurement—positions the new office to more efficiently serve local businesses while also opening doors to overseas partners through ITC’s trade-oriented platform.
Commissioner Miller, the 12th Texas Agriculture Commissioner, has long emphasized strengthening Texas agriculture and expanding economic opportunities for rural communities and agribusinesses statewide.
According to a public social media post from the Texas Department of Agriculture, Miller has also recently visited Houston’s International Trade Center to share the GO TEXAN program and discuss global opportunities with business leaders—underscoring the growing momentum behind this expanded collaboration.
Organizers added that, following the office launch, the ITC-based GO TEXAN team plans to host regular product showcases, buyer-supplier matchmaking sessions, export workshops, and international exchange events to further expand market access for Texas producers and brands worldwide.
